i saw an article in a mag tis past summer when i was in afghanistan and the comet featured had a totally differant front suspension ie. no towers anyone have info on that set up such as who makes it ,how much, and how complicated it is? any help would be great
no shock towers means it was most likely a mustang II conversion. Plenty of stuff on this site for that mod.
If it's what I think you mean, the article was discussed in the thread below. The owner is a member here also. As mentioned it was probably the Mustang II swap. If you type it in the search function above you'll find a lot of info on it. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=69311
socal that is the car and article thanx mustang II suspension lets me put a 351 in my mav with no fitment issues right?
Using the Mustang II suspension allows you to remove the shock towers for more room. "Shaving" a portion of the shock tower allows you to keep your stock suspension. If your here enough it gets discussed often. If I find a good example I'll post it for you. If you look at some of the older project threads you'll find some pics. http://mmb.maverick.to/gallery/browseimages.php?do=searchresults&searchid=9855

If you can afford the rod and custom set up, that is the way to go... They have two versions coil spring and coil over..... This set up is on my wish list.... Oh ! Thank you for your Service...........
