Well it turned into a project now. oneside has a pilot 1/8" hole the other has 1.3" hole... After seeing the hole I realize it was a bad idea. So I took my frustration out on the sides with a hammer. The UCA now fits! so today I bought a shocktower reinforcement kit to patch and improve the towers...

    Here's the kit

question is just how much work to get it to fit.

Just for clarification, those MOOG bushings are sold as retrofits for UCA's that have the threading stripped out of them. They are not "Granada bushings" or "later model bushings". They are a press fit and will make it so you can never go back to a stock shaft kit without replacing the whole UCA.

All that being said, they do not squeak, require no lube and dampen the road noise somewhat. Personally, I like them for a daily driver. Oh, and they leave a lot of extra room on each side of the shock tower when you do the Shelby drop. (That is assuming you are not lucky enough to be driving a REAL Shelby Maverick.):D

could you have drilled the holes and then put a bushing into the holes? unless im mistaken that would reinforce it making it just as strong if not a bit stronger.
not really sure if i explained that clearly enough
