Are you talking about the frame mounts or the motor mounts. I got my motor mounts at NAPA, #2316. About $16, if I remember right. :)

    motor mounts

not the frame brackets, the rubber mounts,i got the same part # but they are very poorly built ,and have no saftey bolt to keep the motor from jumping up if they fail,

I thought they had some type of bolt or big rivet down through them from top to bottom. 2 bolts to the motor, 1 through the frame mount and the one down throught the center. Mine were pretty strong. Ive had them on my 12 second bracket car for at least 4 years with no problems.

Mine were Anchor brand from NAPA. I also got 1 from Auto Zone and it was cheap Taiwan crap. :)

After my little "incident" at the end of last year, when I had a stock motor mount fail, allowing the drivers side of the engine to torque up enough to crack the xmsn case, I was going to just weld it up. After looking at it, I decided to just put it back together, and I drilled 2 holes through it for 1/2" bolts to go through. I got a couple of Grade 8 bolts with matching nuts and washers, and put it back together the way it same factory. I suspect it will hold for years lol.

PS...I had just switched to the 347 as well...and never thought about the motor mount failing.

I'll try to take a couple of pics tonight if you want...

I agree with Maxx. Pin the mounts yourself. You can get by with #5 grade bolts. I did this on my Falcon although the mounts look different than a Maverick mount, the principle is the same. http://www.1bad6t.com/motormounts.html

    thanks

thanks everyone for all the replys, maxx i did just what you said with the bolt through the mount, the motor is back in now:dance:,i guess leaving @3500 rpm on on the tranz brake is a little hard on the mounts:drive:.

Yep...and trans cases :D And I'm just footbraking lol.

on a side note...I performed some redneck engineering that night with a chain and bolt...and was ablt to get down to 4 cars...but I didn't know about the trans case yet.
