Not sure if this goes here or at the "Craigslist" type board. It is not a for sale post, but just what I saw. I am on thier email to be notified of any Mavericks that are brought in. Today in anticipation of our trip to Florida, I thought I would check to see it would be worth a stop at the ones in Georgia on the way down. No Maverick in Atlanta. BUT... Nashville shows '72 was delivered on May 4th. (I didn't get my email. ) Well I went out there today at lunch, not expecting much since it has been there 2 1/5 weeks. Have no tools with me, but thought it was worth a $1 to see if I needed to call Matt to bring some. Looks to be have been a pretty solid car. Drive Train gone. Interior - pretty much stripped. Dash and shelf still intact. Trunk pan is rust free. Carpet still intact so I couldn't see the floor pans for an accurate assessment. Didn't pay much attention to the exterior panels, but think they were decent. Boomerangs still on - not horrible, but pitted. Small bumper and rear bumper still on car (so brackets still there) . Good canidate for re-chrome. Front bumper had slight wave in it, but no creases. Easy to fix. I really considered getting these, but Matt says he wants to keep the big bumper. I was amazed to see that the windshield wipers were still there and in "good" shape. I think had I gotten there on May 4th, there may have been some goodies taken home. Especially the bucket seat tracks (Could see where they have been recently removed.)
The front bumper brackets and turn signal lights will net you an easy 100-125 for the pair if they are in decent shape, I would go get them. How did you get on a mailing list for them? My wife is actually at thier monthly meeting with Pick and Pull's corporate office, she handles all of there equiptment service in california and we have never heard of it.
On the right side of the home page for Pull-a-part, there is a button that says "Notify Me." I used that. I put in both Knoxville and Nashville. Got an email from Knoxville once about a Mav, but couldn't make it there to look at it. So I know the function works. I don't know why Nashville never sent me an email about this car. Also this is www.pullapart.com. I think pick a part is different.
Hmmm, 2 1971's in winston salem. I'll have to start checking the sight closer I get to coming home. I'm in need of brackets and bumpers.
I went and got the front bumper assembly with the stone guard and the lower balance for 44 dollars The brackets need a little massaging to get them straight and the bumper as DVCRobin stated needs a little massaging as well and rechromed. all in all a good deal. By the way, that Maverick was actually a 74 that had been converted to earlier bumpers. Rear bumper was still there yesterday along with rear balance in fair shape. the whole assembly cost 44 dollars if anyone interested. you have to pull it and pay a dollar to get in there!. Thanks to DVCRobin for posting about this car. Wiout her help, I wouldn't have been able to get my bumper.
I am so glad that it helped. I knew you and PredFan lived withing a short driving distance. I stopped at lunch with no tools, but didn't see anything I would go back for.
