Would ya'll suggest removing the sway bar end links to aid in removal of the spindle? There seems to be a lot of tension in just trying to removal the upper B-joint. The spindle is loose in the joint, just wont come out, PITA!!

put a jack under the lower arm and raise the suspension enough to put a short 2X4 between the upper arm and the frame rail. It will allow the lower arm and spindle to drop far enough to remove the ball joint.

I find that one can just push down on it real hard until it pops off.

Thanks Craig, that worked fine. Now I'm just having a fun time removing the lower ball joints/control arm. The bolts are a BI-ATCH! Sprayed them down and am gonna wait till manana :whew:

for future reference, if you loosen the lower control arm pivot nuts, not bolts, the upper joint will separate alot easier. The lower control arm bushing and strut rod bushings are what is holding the assembly up. The pivot nuts spin free once loosened but the bolts are forced to move back and forth in the eccentrics to move the pivot back and forth for camber adjustment. If you have a V8 it's a lot easier to take the belly bar out.

what I mentioned before with the wood is the shop manual recommendation when only removing the upper ball joint.

Yea, started removing the belly bar. One bolt came out fairly well, the passenger side is being stubborn. Sprayed that also. Thanks for the info
