So I was poking around the junkyard and low and behold, there was a granada! Someone already got the front discs but upon inspection....it had a 9" rear! So I grabbed it...walked over a coupe aisles, grabbed the explorer brakes and now I have a 9" with disc brakes going in the Mav this week! To sweeten the deal....the junkyard was having 1/2 off day! I got everything for $115.00!!!

A 9-inch with drum brakes in a Granada? Was it a 351 car?

No! That was the weird thing. It was a straight 6 car. I had heard that kind of thing happened back in the day but i never thought I'd see it!

Congrats! Now you have a rear end that will bolt in AND light disc brakes (y)
    The best of both worlds.

Any chance that the tag is still bolted on the center section? Also, what year was the Granada?

    Thanks.

What I always refer to as my "9 inch Versailles rear" actually came out of a straight 6 Granada Ghia and it had disc brakes too so you never know what you will find under a Granada or a Monarch until you look :thumbs2:
