Ive had grundy on mine for a long time, i chose grundy years ago due to the "unlimited mileage option" whereas hagerty had mileage restrictions, but now i hear hagerty offers unlimited as well

I also have Grundy but will check with Cindy at Haggerty. I also went with Grundy because of unlimited miles but we'll see which once I contact her.

I have hagerty and ther roadside assistance plan. I pay $162.00 a year and my car is covered for $5000.00. I will up the policy soon due to all the changes I have made to my maverick. I also do not have a garage at home, but I work at a repairshop and put that down as my storage location. It is usually in the shop when I'm not playing with it.

They also don't cover any car used at the drag strip...

I asked about that. It dosnt mean they wont cover your car at all just because you drag race it. But they wont cover any damages that come as a result of drag racing or damages incurred at the drag strip.

That is how I interpreted it, as well. But wasn't sure if that was THEIR interpretation. Good to hear that.

I honestly wouldn't expect anyone to cover my car if I do something stupid, such as attempt a 14 second quarter mile while racing a minivan. Which is about the extent of any drag racing I have done in the past!

I signed on w/ Haggerty the same day (on site -car corral) I got the car, July 09. I have had it towed once only abt a mile - I was fortunatly close to home. I have the Comet full coverage and road side assistance on my other 2 daily drivers. I think w/ this setup they tow (any of my cars) 100 miles free - I don't have the policy in front of me at this time. The Comet is insured for 10K at present but will be increased vry soon as the policy renewal is in my possession as I write this. I pay $216.00 for what I currently have.

I just renewed my Grundy, $6500 coverage, $124 a year. Drivers age probably makes a difference in the policy costs. On their website they say you have to have a garage, but the policy doesn't say anything about it, and the policy is what is binding, not what a salesman tells you.....

I am a liscensed Insurance agent. We sell Grundy and Haggerty. Both are good but my Comet is covered for $ 12,000.00 by Haggerty. We have never had a problem with them and we sell a lot of classic car insurance.

Russ, you're kinda handy. Put sides and a door on the carport, and you have a garage, and a lockable door!

I have Hagerty and have had nothing but good things to say. Last Sept., I broke down and they had my Mav towed home within an hour or so. Their rates are very reasonable and their staff is courteous. I have had to use their towing service twice and didn't have any problems.
