fuel gauge issue

    ok so i have a 70 mav 200 i6. i put my old tank from my 73 race car in it. how can i hook upo the fuel gauge being that the 70 is a one wire and the 73is a two wire? this a daily driver and i would love to have a working gas gauge

    Most likely, one of those two wires is a ground...

    is this a...fuel cell? if not, have any pics. of this '73 tank in your '70?

    Easy to test with an ohm meter. One of those posts goes to ground(no or very low resistance to the sender body), and the other will have 73-10 ohms, empty to full. On your 70, the wire goes to the resistor and the ground is through the body of the sender since the tank bolted in on that model. The later tanks strap in and don't provide a good ground, so it's externally grounded. Since you're using the 73 tank and sender, just hook up the post that is grounded to the sender housing to ground on the chassis and the other to your extisting fuel sender wire.
