Bought a B&M floor shifter due to my headers not allowing the column shift to work right. I have the B&M floor shifter installed not sure if I have the lever right, but is there a way to remove the column shift from the steering wheel without buying a new one? Where is the nuetral saftey switch for a 73 maverick that originally had a i6? Please let me know. Thanks!

The wiring from the factory neutral switch will have to be moved to the switch on the new B&M shifter. My '72 had the switch at the base of the steering column. I removed the shift lever and indicator, then sawed off the lever boss, ground it level, and bondo'ed the remaining holes. It now looks like a manual floor-shift column. That said, it's not as easy as it sounds...

At the base is that the wires that look like they clip on? Would the reverse light indicator be in the same place? This may sound dumb, but what is the Lever Boss?

Thanks for the pics. I will attempt it this weekend. Looks kinda funny running around with a column shift and floor shift at the same time:rofl2:
