Ok so I got the edelbrock performer rpm heads on my engine right now amd its great but I want more power,so I was wondering will they fit on a 351-w block? What will I need to make it work? My buddys gonna sell me a short block 351-w for 100 dollars and was wondering I can just toss everything I have onto it or do I gotta start from scratch again, thanks:)

Head bolts are different, crank is different, rods are different, intake is different...the list keeps going.

The Performer RPM heads should bolt right up to the 351W. All that I have seen have 1/2" head bolt holes for use on 351Ws and if you use them on a 289/302 you use a shouldered washer for the 7/16 head bolt. Check and see if they have 1/2 head bolt holes.
You will need a 351W intake manifold, push rods, oil pan and some of the brackets are different. Other then that, the timing chain cover will work, if its a 28oz imbalance 302 the balancer will work as well as all the pulleys. Engine mounts are the same and you can use the stock exhaust manifolds, 302 headers are not tall enough but you can get headers for our cars that will need a little (how should I put this) "persuasion" to get to fit just right.

Yeah I was just gonna use the top end of my engine, not the bottom end. I already have the headers so I know what persuasion your talking about lol,and yeah I have the bolts with the washers on them,i was gonna buy another intake anyways too,and pushrod, the oil pan wont work?? I thought it would?? Only bracket I have is the alt one and it should work since its off the timing cover and goes to the head

No the oil pan has bigger ends on it than the 302. You have to have a 351 oil pan.

The 302 Alt. bracket won't work due to the change in deck height. A lesson learned the hard way. Also be mindful of the height of your intake. If you run roller rockers you will need taller rocker covers. With taller covers you MIGHT be able to put your hand between the cover and the shock tower. (if you have small hands)

Brackets are the same (early style engines). The 351w uses a unique cast iron bolt-on boss that adapts the 302 bracket to the 351 head.
