Well….less than a week away and a few last minute items to announce.
    1. When checking in to the hotel, be sure and ask about your “Welcome Packet”. In there you will find printed area maps for all the attractions we are attending on Thursday and Friday, as well as area restaurants and maps to the drag strip we will be caravanning to on Wednesday evening. If you don’t get one at check in, ask for one and we will see that you get one.

    2. The car show will be located on the hotel grounds. While this has its many advantages (get up in the morning and you are already at the show, you are always less than 30 seconds away from air conditioning, 45 seconds from taking a dip in the pool, restaurant, etc)…it also has a few disadvantages. Mainly, a lack of shelter. Many members are bringing E-Z up shelters. We hope to put them together and make a HUGE shelter so everybody can “share the shade”.

    3. There are many photo opportunities close-by. The Ford World Headquarters is just a mile away, as well as many other area attractions. Plan some time and bring your camera along for some great pictures (see pictures below)

    4. If you haven’t renewed your MCCI membership dues, we can take care of it in Dearborn. New members will also be able to sign up and get “instant” membership in the MCCI.

    5. The MCCI is pleased to announce that the host hotel has made special arrangements for a guest appearance on Saturday. Being that Dearborn is a suburb of Detroit, home to Motown records, one would think that there might be a few recording artists in the area. Knowing that our cars are from the 1970’s, the host hotel has made arrangements for a 1970’s music star to stop by and entertain us with a show. We can’t say who it is, due to unwanted “public” publicity. This is a FREE show for MCCI members. The performer will stick around for photo opportunities with you, your car, or both. This is just an added attraction to an already great weekend and family vacation.

I been a Motown fan for decades - more of an incentive to come.
Im wondering if my 10 by canopy will fit in my car - I've never tried to put it in the car or trunk. I plan on heading out Wed morning.

Not sure if this artist ever recorded with "Motown" or not. I looked, and they have been with (3) different lables. One of them might have been an off shoot of Motown.

I will bring the template...you bring your sharpie.

You might want to come Friday in time for the eveing supper. Once we get back from there, it is the annual MCCI Club Meeting at 8pm. After that...we will be out in the parking lot "hanging out".

I am sure there might be some people in rooms by themselves. Not sure who that would be off hand. Most members bring their entire families with them.

Back to the subject at hand.... :D

MCCI President Shawn Simpson has contact several vendors and "swap meet people" to have them come out with their Maverick goods. So just like in years past, there will be PARTS!!! I know many members are bringing parts to sell as well, including myself.

Here are some pictures of the swap meets from MCCI Roundup Nationals in the past.

O.K.....made it. I will admit....the roads up here are a bit confusing (lots of them). Construction didn't seem to be a problem at all. Before you head out...take down this phone number and call for help if you get lost: 517.605.6272

This is MCCI President Shawn Simpson's cell phone.

Their stint at MOTOWN must have been very brief. :biglaugh:

Neil Diamond, that is pretty cool! I like some of his music but I have heard he puts on a great show.
