If you dropped weight in front and added weight in the rear. The front suspension is close to full extension (droop) This puts the steering linkage in a bind situation making it harder to turn the wheels. Drag racer whos' cars pull the wheels off the ground will chain (travel limiters)the lower controll arms so the front suspension does not fully extend/relax once the wheels leave the ground. This allowes the car to maintain good handeling/steering once the front comes back down to earth. Get your front end down to normal ride height and the problem will go away....

Post some pictures of how high you have it raised up.

You need to figure this out. Sounds very dangerous.

Hanging it off jackstands isnt loading the car the way the engine will when driving...

Is it a manual trans with a column shift? Brake stand the car with the hood up and see if the engine jumps around.

i am 100% sure its not the engine moving around, the car was on a jack and the tires are on the ground and holding weight, i think its just that the maverick wasn't designed to run with the suspension that high and something is binding. problem is, my dad wont let me cut the front coils EVEN THOUGH i can get 3more sets from the junkyard for less than $5 a set:mad::mad::mad:. so the maverick isn't going anywhere any time soon because its to dangerous to drive.

I don't have any pics at the moment, but the rear tire sits an inch up in the wheel well and the front has about 3 inches of space before it disappears. i don't really know how to explain it.

Why would you have your car set up like that? It's no wonder it's a danger to drive, it's not designed to be like that.....

You should re-arch...Or replace the rear leafs (Its common for em to sag with age)
Also...I would recommend you check the steering box, be certain it is still firmly attached to the frame rail...Check the rag joint where the column meets the steering box also...They do deterriorate with age and will cause binding...Good luck!!!
