I am going to buy a aluminum radiator for my 70 Mav. I know some of you guys have went with them. What's the biggest size radiator that will fit in the mav.?????????
I have a 19 X 22 in my '70. I've heard of some people putting 19 X 24 in. I used a Howe #342B. See it at: http://www.performancebodies.com/2002 catalog/cooling/radiators.html#howerad
Radiator Are the inlet and outlets in the correct location for a Maverick, or is it just a generic configuration? [I think I have always been so distracted by that pretty Grabber Blue that I never noticed]! -Doug
When you order the radiator you have to specify Ford-style or Chevy-style configuration. Ordering the Ford-style will get you the correct orientation. I'll see if i can post a picture this evening.
I've heard alot about Aluminum Radiators but haven't given much thought to buying one I know they transfer heat better and are lighter but i'm wondering if it's even worth it for a 200 CID with no A/C. My original Radiator seems fine just needs new hoses but I know one day it will call it quits as do all radiators, when that day arrives I had thought of replacing it with an Aluminum one are they really expensive?
The radiator in the pic above sells for $189. The cheapest I was quoted for a stock replacement was $200. Click on the link in the second post above and check them out.
