Next week starting Wed 9/14 I have to be in Nevada and the first day is the orientation and a driving school and then next 2 days are PR event that we have to be present for and Sunday 9/18 is race day. I'm entered in the 110mph class and I have a max speed of 124mph. The winner is whoever gets closest to 110 mph, the last person I believe was 110.003mph or something like that.

the car is a 1971 maverick, 331 NA, 650dp holley carb, G-force T5 transmission, varishock coilover double adjustable front suspension and varishock double adjustable rear suspension. Hooker headers going to 3" exhaust, 3" aluminum drive shaft and 9" rear end. Wheels are forged aluminum centerline 17x8 front and 17x9.5 rear and 255/40/17 Nitto front tires and 275/40/17 rear tires. Tires are Z rated with pressure/temp monitoring system on it.

I got a lot to do still, so I'm curious how much I can get done. Need to install 3.0 gears in the rear to stay under 5K rpm, need to install lowering blocks and get the car aligned. Need to go over allllllll the bolts, go over all the electrical wiring.

it's a big mess but looks much better after I cleaned up the wiring it's much better. I used these metal noninsulated crimps which were recommended by a few websites and supposed to be comparable to solder. I used heat shrink as well with a heat gun.

Well, it looks like you are almost there? Who is going to be your co-pilot?
Do you have a driveshaft hoop?
Do you have a couple of fire extingushers? One for yourself and one for your co-pilot?
Are you going to rent an in-car video camera? This could be helpful for viewing after the fact.............just a suggestion..................plus we would all like to see how you do in the race...................no pressure here.
I know this may sound silly, we do it in drag racing and in road course racing, but find the center of your steering wheel with the tires point exactly forward and mark the steering wheel with yellow/red tap................this can help you!

Good Luck..................and Keep The Shinny Side Up

no navigator, couldn't find someone last minute. But I have it planned out to do solo. I spoke to the organizers and there is a couple guys that run every year solo. Obviously I won't be as competitive since I'll be paying more attention to the road than my times.

If I can use both ports on the bottle then I can use this diagram . . .

Nozzle in the trunk going to the bottle, then a line going to the T which feeds a nozzle in the cabin and one in the engine.

I am not sure if you have a 3lb or 5lb system, but you need to use both ports. One is usually for the interior of the car and the other is for the engine. The nozzles are also different, with different patterns.

Remember, when use all three, each compartment is getting 33% of the bottle...............in therory anyway. I assume you have a fuel cell in the rear? If not and you just have a regular tank I would concentrate everything in the engine compartment and passanger compartment only....the fire usually starts up front and works its way back. Do you have a bulkhead between the passanger compartment and the trunk?

VERY COOL! Cant wait for updates. Have you had the car 100+ cruising yet to see what it feels like? I cant imagine cruising at 110 much less 124. Hell I havnt even ventured into the 90 mph zone yet. I 1/8th at only 89ish.

Good luck! There are some nice GPS Speedometer apps that show you current speed, maximum speed and average speed.
