Dude... Thats my wallet on the table. With my debit card. Please mail to me immediately. Really... I have the same wallet with BofA card in the first slot. My plugs looked the same way when I swapped them out. Doing much better now. Do they intend to run the race if the roads are wet? Im thinking there are prob not many people who have prepared with rain tires.
The race is done and I made it back home! It was busy week. I had so much to do but got it all done. The fuel pump was starting to make a lot of noise which I finally realized why but the car was starting to run great after making the jet adjustment. The night before I packed up the car and the trunk was FULL of luggage and tools and everything else. We all drove out to the race in a caravan at 6am with police escort which was about 40 miles from Ely. Cars started rolling off the race line every 1 minute and the whole thing was super organized and detailed down to the last T.
130 cars raced, one car ran out of gas during the race, there was one prius, one covertable (top was down for the race) mini cooper, several ferraris and one lambo and a few factory 5 cars
I finished the race without any major trouble, I'll list the details with pics soon. The rough part was driving back home, more on that later as well. I left Ely at 11am and got back to SD at 11pm.
Back to reallity huh? How do you feel like you did? Was it fun to drive like that? HOw did your car handle? Congrats on doing the whole thing. Sorry for all the ?s Just a junkie for this and you have the fix. Glad you made the whole trip safe.
I think I did decent, there were 10 other people in my class so I'll find out soon how I really did. It was unreal, definitely an experience I'll cherish. The car loved 110mph, I started out at comfortable at 89 and it was really hard feeling comfortable getting past that but I soon realized I needed to go 120 for a while to bank time for the narrows. I was told in the narrows I wouldn't be able to go much faster than 70-80 the first time out. I went up to 100 and then 105. Stayed there for a minute and went up to 110 and it was just perfect at 110 and up to 119 for a while then stayed at 121 for a few miles and car was solid and steered perfect. I came down and held 118 for a while and down to 115 for pretty much the rest of the trip up until the narrows. The first turn is a blind off bank turn which I took at 90, it was really comfortable at 90 so I floored it and took the rest of the turns which stretched about 4 miles at 100 and then did a dash for the finish line at 121 again and finished the 90 miles in 51 minutes and 21 seconds.
I just found out the 2 guys driving this car didn't make it and died during the race. They were going 200mph in the 180mph class and had a tire failure, rolled and car caught on fire. It happened at noon and I wasn't there to hear or see anything. I remember the guys because this car was heavily modified and was the loudest and meanest sounding car there. When I opened up my headers and was driving to the line up both of them turned to me and totally gave me the thumbs up on my car.
