460 install first try

I finally mocked up the 460 in my car. The steering rack will have to be dropped down for clearence and some notching here and there. anyway pic of big motor in little car. lol

 

Looks like a tight squeeze.

I also had to build a bracket and drop my rack so my Cleveland would sit down close to the MII crossmember - I had to buy a Baer bump steer correction kit to re-level the rack ends to the spindles

 

it was a pain lol. how has your car been doing. I remember it running 7.40;s but haven't heard any updates in a couple years

 

building the drivers side engine stand will be fun

 

Have you considered using a front motor plate?

In my younger days I used to see in the magazines a "490 Gorilla". This 460 is probobly the biggest I seen going into a Maverick.. that I remember anyway.

You could make a plate that bolts to the heads, maybe even make it two pieces, one for each side.

I've got some shiny Moroso valve covers that have a few dents in them and some other parts left over from the 460 I changed out in the motor home. Let me know if you want any of this stuff.

 

I will have to run the factory valve covers bc of clearence issues but I appreciate the offer. How have you been doing
