Just got my windshield gasket replace but still got small leak. My question is should the windshield be remove to put some butyl chaulking cause no sealant was put under windshield or can windshield be seal with butyl chaulking between the gasket and body without removing the windshield.

Are you sure the windshield is leaking and not the cowls? Not trying to insult, would hate to see you go to the effort of sealing the windshield if the problem is else where.

I had my glass seal replaced twice (@75. each plus labor) and it still leaks. The glass people just don't know what they are doing when it comes to vintage cars. I am now just living with the leak because I don't want my car mucked with again. Im afraid they will scratch it.

When you replaced your rusty roof with part of a Cadillac roof, did you have to do any work in the area of the pinch weld around the windshield?

You should be able to reseal the windshield with the glass still in place.

The glass shop that did my windshield pumped sealer between the car and rubber and between rubber and glass after it was installed. The also sealed the groove where glass sits in the rubber before installing. In other words the used a lot of Butyl sealer.

If you want something done right... Id contact the shop that did the work and ask for my money back.

    Flowable Sealant

Try some flowable sealant. I used a tube of it to temporarily fix a badly leaking gasket until I could get a new gasket installed. That was 6 months ago. and it hasn't leaked a drop since.
    Good luck.

I agree, these new shops don't know what to do as most don't work with gaskets much at all.
