Use the bucket seat brackets, and you can bolt any Ford bucket to them. Mustang seats are cheap, and it's the brackets (seat rails) that are the hard part to find, since they are Maverick/Comet only. The 73, 74 seats are much more comfy.
I actually bought a hose from a guy on the VW Vortex forum. It cost me $45.00 shipped to my door, from knoxville, Tenessee. It has been on my VW about 2 months now, and I've gotta say, the A/C on the Golf is the coldest I've ever had in any vehicle, new or old. From what the guys say on the Vortex, that is a trait of those cars. Why? I don't know. I have a set of black '70 model bucket seats , that are in great shape but, are without tracks. I removed them from a black '70 model, that I bought for parts about 5 years ago. I would sell them right reasonable, if you are interested, shoot me a P.M.
Nice score, not many to be had anymore and sell for alot normally. I scored a blue set off CL a while back. I plan to get them recovered in black imitation leather like the new Mustang with grey double stitch instead of piping and the vented material for the inserts. Old school with a modern touch...should look nice.
Mustang seats would be pretty cool, TMI makes upgraded foam and seat covers, to modernize them a bit in style and support.
Nice score on those buckets and tracks! With all the talk about Mustang seats ... thought I would chime in. I have Mustang seat frames going into the Comet, and a set of TMI covers for a 71 Mustang coupe. Fastback seat covers come made for a fold down rear seat, so that rules out Mach 1 sets if you want the front and back to match. There are pics of my back seat after recovering here, in my project thread .... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=55560&page=6 The trick here is that the Mav rear seat bottom is 2-3 inches taller than the Mustang coupe rear seat. You could either add material to compensate, or, like I did, chop the rear seat frame down. Also, the Mustang upper rear seat is about an inch wider, a much closer fit than the bottom. Because of the chopped bottom frame, I can now sit in the back seat of my Comet without my head rubbing the headliner.
