Congratulations on a beautiful car. Well done! I was wondering if you could help me with one small detail. I'm building a toploader equipped Maverick too, but try as I might, I haven't been able to find out which Hurst installation kit I should use with my Competition Plus shifter (they never made one specifically for Mavericks, as I'm sure you know). Do you have any receipts, empty boxes or something that would record the kit number of the one you used? Thanks. John B
I know I do not have the box (moved too many times), but will look through the receipts for it. I noticed a lot of my receipts have faded, but I will take a look.
answers I am from North Carolina, outside Winston Salem. Those are a pair of NOS taillights from a Bobcat, I saw a pic of a car with them about 20 years ago and loved the look.
Hi guys I have owned a My 1971 Maverick Grabber since 1974 I have been here many times and have spotted some interesteing things . My Maverick has a differant twist. My car was getting rusty on the rear frame rails and rear Quarters like most 71 Mavericks , I found a clean rust free Comet GT for 300 bucks I replaced the dammadged comet fromt end with the fenders, hood, bumper, roll pan and grill along with the small rear bumper and rollpan from the Maverick . My car now looks like a 1971 grabber from the fromt and a 71 Comet GT from the back. best of both worlds. It has the manual disc brakes heavy rear suspension from the 1974 with the look of the 1971.
You have spent a great deal of time making that car your own. Its really interesting looking at your pictures. Awesome attention to details. Nice to count you among us.
Sharp looking Car ... My 76 is white also ... with saddle tan interior ... just starting my restoration ... great job on yours !!!
