Some of the responses are pretty funny. Here's one 1. Not all 5 lugs are V8s, the 250-6 (available from day one) also had them. 2. The Grabber WAS NOT just an appearance package, it had larger front sway bar, and higher rate springs, and shocks to match. And they were all V8s, which is why the Grabber package debuted in ’72, along with the 302. 3. Also, this car was started before the 68 safety and emissions act was enacted, and was actually going to be paired with the brilliant 351 Cleveland as a NHRA legal Showroom Stock racer. Hence the reason for the fastback styling, 2 door only body, and total lack of creature comforts. Also explains why there was both the Maverick AND Falcon in the showroom in ’70. Sadly, passing of the Clean Air Act changed everything.
i love it when mustang buffs tell me about how there is NO POSSIBLE way my 250 i6 wasnt a grabber at birth
