Hey guys, I figure that with all of the proud Maverick/Comet owners that we have on this forum that Mavericks and/or Comets were probably the first vehicle for a lot of folks. Is that true? If not, what was your first vehicle?
This is the first Mav that I have ever owned, my first car was a 1971 VW Karmann Ghia. Great first car, very easy to work on/modify.

Well, I am sure there are some that had a Maverick as their first car, but mine was a 52 Chevy Htp with 54 Corvette 6cyl and 3spd. She used to eat up those 265 Chevy V8s back in the day.
Here is a picture in 1964 with "a girl friend" in the drivers seat. The only issue was the torque tube driveline, and I used to eat up tranmission at least every month or so, good thing we had a wrecking yard not far away and for $15 I could get another trans. Because the car had a removeable tunnel I could take the trans out from inside the car and I had it down to completely replace the trans in a little over 1 hour.
Thanks for the memories................those were some really great days back then...............long before most of you guys were born.

1941 Ford coupe at age 15. My dad gave it to me when the engine wore out. Got an engine at a junk yard for $25, put it in and was thrilled to have wheels. Lots of memories in that old car!!

My first car was a 1977 Toyota Celica. It was a quick little car. It had Centerline wheels with big fat tires in the rear that I could(and did) light up all day long. :chirp:
