Hi everyone - hoping I can upload my pictures soon.
So psyched - got my 1st car yesterday!
    1976 2dr Maverick 6 cyl.
Would have liked a grabber 302 but my dad figured I'd keep my license for about a week so went with a 6. (not sure if I have a 250 or 200 - engine identification sticker was powerwashed off)
Looking for advice and experience. Been surfing thru here for close to a yr while searching for the right car.
Just got my permit last week (age 15 in VT).
Wanted to have something different in highschool than all the other kids with Civics.
My dad has a mint 74 Charger that won trophies when I was a toddler but hasn't uncovered it in 11yrs so I don't even remember it. He had 27yrs now.
Wanted to have the same experience as him when he was young.
    Glad to be here :ratrod:

Welcome to the site. The original engine in your car can be determined by the 5th number of the VIN number on the dash and title.

    Engine:

    T - 6-200 - 1 bbl - 78-81Horsepower
    L - 6-250 - 1 bbl - 78-90 Horsepower
    F - 8-302 - 2 bbl - 143 Horsepower

You can still get yourself in trouble with a 6 cylinder (I did) so be careful but have fun :thumbs2:

Enjoy it and welcome to MMB!
As to posting pictures, the best way is to start a free hosting account like photobucket or similar, then you can display them in a post using the image tag (small picture of a mountain above the quick reply box) just insert the url of the image when it prompts you to do so.
Looking forward to pictures of your cool new car!

Here are some shots of my new old car.
Almost 4hr drive from our house one way.
Thought I was buying the car from Santa for a minute there!
My dad parked me in front of this liquor store on the way home for a picture - then made fun of me on Facebook saying it was the first place I drove to...:naughty:
I'll get some engine and interior shots today

They were all one barrel engines.

Not sure why there is a difference. Maybe California emmissions on some cars?
