Read my other posts for all the gory details, but I'm looking to buy a complete weatherstripping kit for our Mav.

Mustang weatherstripping kits: $170-$300 (depending on vendor and components)
Maverick weatherstripping kits: $450 (only from AutoKrafters)

I completely understand supply and demand, but nearly $500 (after shipping)...you have GOT to be joking!!!

Someone please tell me there are other options ?!?!?!?

You can find individual pieces here and there but nobody makes a complete kit. Price is high because so few sets get made when they get made. Recently, windshield gaskets were on back order for like 6 months. Vendors are far and few between for our cars and I for one am greatful that at least these sets are offered, even if the price seems high compared to ubiquitous Mustang stuff.

    :)

I got my upper door seals from Steel rubber products, they were $95 plus shipping just for those... My windshield and rear window seals came from ebay... The kit is cheap compared to buying each pc one at a time...

Got mine from AK. Didnt figure the price was too bad for all the rubber.

I got mine from Autokrafters. Didn't figure it to bad considering all the rubber components. Well worth the money in my opinion...

Then what's the problem? If you want cheap parts get a Fox body Mustang. This is what you run into when you favor a niche vehicle.

Somewhat true of course, but not all of our "niche vehicle" parts are as disproportionately expensive. Carpet for instance, very affordable, as are many other replacement parts. And given the age of our cars, I'm sure there is a lot of weatherstripping being bought and sold for Mavericks. Thus my surprise at the cost...

Our cars are way cheaper than first gen mustangs. But you have to buy a good car to start with.

A restored grabber goes for the same money as a rusted 69-70 shell stang out here.

Parts may be expensive, but the actual cars are cheap.

I agree...I know anyone on this website who has a Maverick/Comet and plans to restore it or do some work to it has to buy rubber for the car. I don't care if granny applejack drove it and garage kept it. The rubber leaks or is brittle 9 times out of 10. Honestly, whoever makes it is making some $$$ off Maverick/Comet weatherstripping. :)

As they should. Bottom line: If there was NO profit in any parts...they would never be made.

The amount of Maverick weatherstrip made and sold compared to Mustang weatherstrip made and sold is probably not even close. I would bet, even now, Mustang weatherstrip out sells Maverick weatherstrip 20 to 1. Because of the volume made and sold.....Mustang parts suppliers/manufacturers can do it for less.
