By that theory a AMC marlin would have expensive rubber, with a total production number just over 17,000. I can do a google search and get all the rubber for under $300.
Theres over 18,000 members on here and countless others working on mavericks.

Put a Maverick next to a Marlin, you can't tell me a Marlin has less rubber.

I like making money when working/selling...but not taking advantage of people.

I am going to need a weatherstrip kit for my 63 Falcon 2 door hardtop, the kits for it have been from $650 to $750. I thought the kit from AutoKrafters for the Maverick was high untill I priced the ones for my Falcon

Considering Auto Krafters is the only one that sells a complete kit, and they have to source it from 2 different vendors, have it shipped, pay people to assemble the kits, have a building with electricity, heat, phones, catalogs....I don't think they take advantage of anyone.
If I ran Auto Krafters, and I read how people on here complain about their prices and services, I'd rip up the Maverick & Comet catalog, and stop supplying any Maverick & Comet parts, it can't be very profitable them.

The making of the reproduction weather stripping was initiated by them in the first place, along with quite a few other parts. I talked to another big reproduction company, that was staying at the same hotel in Columbus as us, and the guy told me they wouldn't touch Maverick stuff with a 10 ft pole, they'd never get their initial investment back. So think what you may.(y)

I did the same thing. I talked to a guy with NPD, he pretty much told me the same thing. I told him about the forum, with the thousands of members here, and he just laughed. He said Mavericks were like Studebaker's and Nash's, They had a loyal following, but not the popularity of Mustang's, Camaro's, etc. Not everybody liked them, so not many people wanted one.

In a TRUE free market system, that is impossible. If a company supplies a product that fills a need of the consumer, and the consumer buys that product to fill a need...then nobody is taking advantage of anybody. Market will dictate price, supported by demand.

I have not found anything better than the whole kit. By the piece ends up costing alot more. No complaints on the AK quality as of yet. Just their customer service. But supposedily that was taken care of. I didn't think it had been the last time I called.

Shalom in the home everyone!!! We're all family here - LOL - please forgive me for stirring up a debate (although iz-all-gud). :sorry:

I was just surprised that the stuff was so expensive given the Mav was one of the top selling cars in its day. But I suppose a lot of them have been cut and crushed as well. Anyway, it is what is is...

I don't have a beef with anyone on here or autokrafters. I ordered everything from them I need. I just hope the rubber goes down as I know 'plenty of folks' buy them.
