I have 2 black hoses coming from the back left of of my engine compartment and they are not connected to anything. What are they for/what are the supposed to be connected to?

    Thanks

Are the hoses pluged or connected together to make a loop?
They are not connected to anything now probably cuz the heater core is/was leaking and whoever owned the car did'nt want to fix it.

It is easy to replace that heater core and hook every thing back up.
when I was younger I thought a Taurus would be as simple. Boy was I naive.
