This is where it all started. I found an old Boss engine, and built it as far as I could go.

There wasn't any affordable aluminum heads back then, and the Boss stuff was the cream of the crop, well to me anyway.

I had custom pistons made from Aries. They were 13.5:1, and I had to hand shape each dome to fit. I used a split profile cam from Crane, a C4 tranny with stall convertor, and a 9 inch rear from a 57 Ranchero with 3.89 gears.

Oh, it was a real "hoot". I had many troubles with the Mallory duel point dizzy. I didn't know {and, there wasn't an internet around to ask a question} if I needed the supplied resistor or not.

I can't remember what finally happened, but I eventually got it figured out. Also had fun with those huge rear wheels hitting the wheel wells...........lol.

Cool...when my Maverick and Mustang are done, I may get my Boss 302 ready for my Maverick. I gotta use it in something.

I never got to run it at the track, but I remember it felt pretty quick.

    The rear tires were N50/15's.

The Wieland tunnel ram was the only thing I could find to fit it, except for the factory duel plane. The old Gapp/Roush single plane would have been the best choice, but it was hard to find.
