Anyone notice if the last 1/2 inch or so when bolting the t-5 to the bell installed on the motor seemed a lil tougher than it should. Like it was pushing the clutch?????

that is a sign that the clutch disk is not properly lined up. i usually will use a pry bar to push the clutch fork to release the clutch disk. this will allow the trans to go in smoothly. the only other thing that i can see going on is if the pilot bearing is the wrong size.

1st install or repairing an existing one?

The 94 and later T5 has a longer input shaft than the 93 and earlier. If the early bell housing is used with the late T5, the shaft would bottom out in the pilot cavity.

Solved the problem. Checked the trans and it turns out to be a 94 95 trans. Apparently the guy i bought it from was a couple years off. Gonna do a input shaft swap

That makes sense, I've run into that issue before as well. Timely advice since I'll be bolting them back together this weekend again.
