It's been one year today since i brought home my 1977 Maverick Work done so far! 1 Rebuild rear frame rails 2 some floor repairs done (more to go) 3 installed power bucket seat out of 1996 Explorer (driverside) 4 install Geo Metro power brake booster 5 install 5.0 eng and trans out of 96 Explorer 6 in the process of mating the eng wiring with the Mav. wiring 7 to ? a long way to go BUT ALOT OF FUN GETTING THERE!
Sweet! I have a AWD 96 Explorer, I'm using for a swap. I have to find a tail shaft for my 4R70W...shouldn't be too hard...I hope
They are out there Dave, I got lucky when i went looking i found this one on Craigslist as runs but needs trans. 700.00, i got it for 500.00 flat bedded it home and found it had blown a aftermarket cooler line off. so i reattached it put in fluid and it shifted fine (however when im done with fab work and wiring i'm gona rebuild eng and tranny any way!
The Geo master cylinder does not have a meter, proportion or residual valves. It will work in light duty braking situations but might not work well under panic stops or wet roads. I know a lot of the Falcon guys who had swapped to the Geo power booster didn't like the setup and swap back to what they had before doing the swap
I'm using the Metro booster but not the Mastercyl. I've adapted the Master off of the explorer to the booster, only time will tell, sometimes trial and error is what it takes to find out
think diddie it be close to 2 years just little less in a month i cant wait to drive it and i cant wait till i get mine own maverick
It is now TWO years as of today! not as far as i would like to be but here is what i have got done this year 1. Finished wiring 2. custome built a trans crossmember 3. new upper controll arm shafts and bushings (the updated press ins) 4. install a center steer rack and pinnion 5. some random repairs here and there 6. getting ready to order all new front suspension components (ball joints ect.) Looking foward to spending more time on it this year if time will permit
