Are those the heads you want to go with or are you still looking for a pair of GT40P's?

They're large chamber heads, which explain the domed pistons. If you're serious about building a 393 stroker, you need to find out what your bore size is and whether or not your block needs any machine work. Your current pistons should be marked .030", .040" or something like that, or maybe they're stock bore. The stroker crank will require 302 pistons of an appropriate size. Flat tops would probably be ok since the increased displacement (stroke) will increase the compression, which is what the domes were for. But that's just a guess until we know your actual ratio. Bore size and the heads you'll use in the final configuration will help us figure that out.

And then I guess we ought to start talking about cams...

I doubt there's a big enough difference to justify the cost. With the 393 there's no extra work to be done with the block and it can be done with off the shelf pistons and rods. Tends to be much cheaper. Probably more reliable too, but that's just my opinion.

Just make it a 427 stroker, if your going to spend the money.

I had my 351C built into a 393 stroker. With my Boss 351 closed chamber heads and using dished reverse dome Keith Black forged pistons, I am still carrying 10 to 1 compression. The 4 bolt main block was bored out .030 over and a Scat stroker crank was used with long Chevy rods. :bouncy:

351 is heavy with large crank main jounals and not many more cid than a much lighter 347.
I'm I understanding that you want to run P heads on a 393?

If you are serious about putting a tall deck Windsor in your car you there are other things you have to worry about besides just the motor. Since the deck height on the 351 in quite a bit taller the the 302, the 351 will be a very tight squeeze. You are gonna have a hell of a time getting headers in there, and they are gonna be very restrictive since there will be even less room for the headers between the shock towers then the 302 has. A lot of guys do a Mustang II front suspension setup. Which loses the shock towers, and clears up a ton of room to run nice flowing headers.
