Not sure where I can really find any that I like. Found these on craigslist, but not sure if they would work or how much time/ money would be involved. I have a 71 maverick, 2 doors, and it currently has a bench seat. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Anything is possible, but if I am remembering those seats from back in the day, they may be a bit wide, and present a problem squeezing them in a Mav. I have seats that share the original Mav bucket seat frames (71-73 Mustang/Cougar)... 19 inches wide at the upper and 23 inches wide at the lower cushions. They are a pretty tight with a narrow console (Granada/Versailles) I have swapped in, but it all fits nice.

The toughest job with Mavs is getting seat tracks to work. Mav seat tracks use risers on the tunnel-side tracks to get the seats level. 1 inch at the front and 1 5/8ths at the back. You will really need to do some fabrication if swapping in non-Ford seats.

If you can get Mav seat tracks .... fairly scarce, but you are hanging out in the right place to find them ... then you can use a great majority of Ford seats made from the 1970s until now. Most all of them used the same bolt pattern to put them on their tracks.

Yup I have camaro seats also. I used the camaro seat tracks. They lined up with the existing holes in the floor. I just made the 2 mentioned spacers out of round alum bar stock, painted them satin black, used longer bolts, big washers underneath floor. You dont see the spacers as I have black carpet. Worked great and no problems in 4 yrs. Hope this helps. TTFN Ron

Experienced this with aftermarket seats in a1990 Jeep Cherokee. But, as you've stated, with a bit of modification, it can be done.

I'm in the process of installing some aftermarket seats right now. Had a bench, went to buckets. I need to weld in new mounting pedestals/framework. PITA!

I have just bought another Comet GT to restore and have an original set in my parts car. Not sure which set I will use. Both sets needs recovering, but are original 71 GT seats. I will sell the set I do not use...
