Holley Street HP carb too rich at idle.

    I'm a firm believer. There is always a price we pay for things we want. Low idle to give the lopey effect, costs you the price of gas. Can change the cam, but again there is a cost involved. You get the picture. :)

    Idle circuit depends on power valve size (engine vacume) so if you have a 6.5 power valve it won't open till the vacume drops below 6.5 inches.800 rpm is definately better and will aid in cleaning up rich idle

    The power valve has nothing to do with the idle circuit

    Well, I opened up the secondary flaps and it idled better, but died when I put it in gear. Seemed to not smell as bad, but no good if I cannot keep it running when I put it in D.

    Will experiment with the idle bleeds next. But done for today, put my grabber hood on, straightened out a door and a fender, and pounded out a dent in the front of it, and swapped out a thermostat and hose on my truck, so I am done for the day.
