Hello everyone! I have been kicking around doing a project Maverick for a couple of years now and I am finally going to do it. Have had Mustangs (65 and 71) and some trucks (68 F100, 69 F250, and 69 F250 Highboy) plus others, so my blood it defiantly Ford blue. With my daughter in college and my boys in high school I wanted something to work on with my boys that will not cost me a fortune. I know that a fortune can be spent on anything but I wanted a low initial investment and something to build on a budget. The car will be just a cruiser / 1/4 mile racer. Not a full on drag car but a nice solid car that will run good times and give us a chance to work on something together. I just picked up a 74 Maverick that is in pretty good shape. There is currently no engine or transmission but the price was too good to pass up. It is originally a 6 cyl auto car but the guy I picked it up from had already acquired the v8 motor mounts, wiring harness and PS / AC equipment. The plan is to drop in a 302 and either a C4 or do the work and put in a T-5. I spent a bit of time lurking and searching the forums for info as I prepared to buy this car. This place looks like a wealth of information and you can rest assure that I will do extensive searching before I post any questions. I am excited for the work to begin. Thanks, Larry
