I ordered parts from autokrafters like a week ago, they confirmed the order. sent me a mail that looked like a shipping notice. Well they just charged my bank today and no more mailed updates from them. Are they usually really slow to ship stuff?
Yes. Often due to small delays in stocking their inventory from my experience. They are a small company and trying to do a job no one else does (ie: stocking Maverick parts). If you call their customer service and inquire as to what is the delay they will tell you what is going on. Often, it is 1 or 2 items in an order holding it up. Call them.
They always take forever, you just have to live with it. They also are one of the few selling parts for post 65 falcons so I deal with them a lot. I've had to wait up to 6 months before for an order.
If they charged you today it probaly shipped today. Me and my buddy have spent several dollars with them and sometimes things are slow.
They usuall don't charge for the parts until they are or about to be shipped or at least that was their practice. If you call them they can tell you what is holding up the order, but I had to request that they send the rest of the order and ship the backordered item when it came in. They are good to deal with in my experience.
I've been close to this on all the weatherstripping. A lesson to all restoring cars. Buy what you need now instead of waiting until 2 weeks before you need it for the car. Or you could be in for quite a delay in completing your car.
I agree with what's been said, they do have things that no-one else has, just wish it would show up a bit sooner.
Good as long as it is just that they are normally slow and not that my parts went to the wrong place. I can live with a place being slow to ship. I just have to remember that they are in the future.
I guess I'm lucky. Thier only about 1 hr. away from me. I call and see if they have it in stock, if so I go get it. If not, they call when its in and I go get it. They are a small co. and had to down size the last few years. They are great to deal with and always get the parts I need. So far.
I'd say it depends on whether they have an item in stock when you order it or not. Takes a few days for the boat to get here since a lot of the stuff is made offshore.
