Hey Guy. I want to put the windows back into this weekend but the two trim pieces that sit in the bottom corners of the rear window havent been recovered and returned yet. I was wondering if they can actually be replaced or installed with the window in?
If they are the plastic type you are more than likely to break the studs when you try to put them in when the window is in place, metal ones no problem
I agree. Put them in while the window is out. Others have had success installing them with the window in but I broke the studs.
If they do break, it's a pretty easy repair. Drill holes where the studs were, countersink the outside, epoxy in a pair of countersunk machine screws (with nuts on the inside), then refinish.
I've never seen where the window in/out made a difference on installing these. the plastic is brittle is why they break the studs off. most I break are when removing... the metal ones are on my...junkyard pull list...
