Power steering setup wouldn't go on properly. I used the drop down bracket but it's still atleast 1.5 inches off. From what I read in here the hookers are a better fit. I hope so, if not hello shorty's.

My old headmans fit great with a flowtech drop bracket. Easy install

It was an easy install, pass side went in then lifted the driver side and the header went right in. Drop bracket went in but the ram hit one of the tubes. Maybe it was a bad set but I'll give the hookers a shot.

How long is the drop bracket? they come in different lengths. I put Headmans on my 74 Grabber years ago.

Hedmans are the best fit out there in my opinion. Ive looked at many cars and alot of headers need to dented in some areas to fit, mainly at the steering box. I hear the Hookers are hit and miss with needing to be clearanced. the Hedmans need to longest drop bracket. I saw some Summit headers this weekend that cleared the cylinder with what looked like a pretty short drop bracket. but they were only 1 1/2" tubes, and they were hitting the steering box and one other spot. Rumor is the Summit headers copy the Hooker design.

THese are the Shorty style headers Hedman is saying fits our cars, its been shown that they do not work. I was referring to the long tubes in my post.

You must be better at mechaniking then Earl...... :rofl2: I guess there just really isnt a constant when it comes to headers and fitting or not. Do we blame the header manufacturers, or Ford ?

Mine also hit the pitman arm but the big issues were with the cylinder. I would have needed to add another inch and a half down and an inch to the rear
