possible shelby maverick hood found in Mexico....

    Interesting to say the least but still not concrete evidence.....but still.....;)

    If this has ever been posted sorry for the repost......but i do not recall seeing it here....

    I saw this tach on a grabber years ago. WAS it an option? WAS it transplanted from a Pontiac? Curious, it's been an ongoing argument with my brother in law for years now.

    In the US it was never an option(on a maverick), but you could buy them at speed shops etc...Ford did put some on other models.

    In Mexico you could get a tach and a cobra jet hood scoop at the dealer before the car ever left the lot. You could also get almost any part that appeared on the Shelby de mexico maverick. Which will make it even more difficult to find an original one.

    I keep in contact with a lot of the guys down south and they send me pictures every once in a whole, I also take trips down there to visit my grandparents.




    I've seen several picture of those bumpers also on both Mexican and Venezuelan maverick. I mention them in my thread:

    The tach could be bought through Ford parts department at any dealer. Ford's hood tach was not as tall as GM's hood tach. Both were made by Dixco
