Just bought one and I'll be test fitting it this weekend. Hoping it will look good for my project. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SHAKER-AIR-CLEANER-ASSMEBLY-BOSS-302-429-COBRA-JET?item=300668458750&cmd=ViewItem&_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D4%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D7519377594050200676#ht_810wt_1163
can you post pics of it? the seller is in fontana which is only 20 minutes from me, i wonder if they carry the torino style
never mind i can see the pics now in the ad, looking at his other items almost all of them are hardcore knock offs. but the boss scoop does look very well made, and for $200 it's a major price difference than the normal $1,100 repros I wouldn't gamble with his electronic or mechanical parts but this scoop looks very decent. thanks for sharing the link
sorry for the delay, this weekend I'll post pics. I got the unit unboxed and examined. Overall its not bad, there will be a decent amount of prep work (minor bondo, prime and paint) to get the piece where I want it. The only issue is HOW HUGE IT IS! I never realized the size of the boss shake and how much room it takes up! Looking to install on a stock 302 your fine, but with my mods its going to take some work. To run the whole shaker I'll need to swap intakes (Funnelweb is an inch too tall) and cut up the coil pack bracket so I move my coil packs away about one inch. Or.. and I say OR the way I want to run it. Which is running my 14" K&N open filter, and top with the scoop mount over it. I did some trail fittings and the scoop on the K&N is going to work best and really easy to setup. So hoping this weekend I can get the photos to you.
Yes its all fiberglass, not much weight to the assembly. Seems thick enough to support the abuse that a shaker would get. Coil packs? you mean to tell me that you guys dont have coil packs? I thought everyone did? Distributors? we don't need no stinkin Distributors!. and for laughs [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lj056ao6GE"]Blazing Saddles - We dont need no stinking badges.. - YouTube[/nomedia]
how about some measurements when you get done cutting up the hood and a thread on what all you did would be great
John Google Comptronics they have a nice retrofit DIS8 for ford small blocks. Im looking into it myself.
You mean this? http://www.compu-tronix.com/DIS8.htm Not what I'm using but close. A bit pricey for me, then again considering the combine cost of distributor, coils, and no need for msd its not too bad
