drive shaft swap?throttle body ?

    i swaped out my 200 motor and put in a efi 91 5.0 with the stock Aod tranny what drive shaft can i use i have a 71 maverick with stock rear end.

    and on my 5.0 ho motor its got a stock spacer on the throttle body can i get ride of that so my cold air intake will fit

    the spacer behind the throttle body is where the bracket for the throttle body bolts to. accufab makes a 1/4 spacer to replace the thick stock one.

    250 swap to 302 w/AOD...(uncut)...stock driveshaft... used the stock shaft with my C-4...AOD...T-5...700R4...:yup:

    I eliminated the egr spacer but I had a friend weld a bracket for throttle cable directly to the intake. I personally would take Bryant's suggestion and use the 1/4" spacer. It will allow you to change intake later without having to do that again.

    What Frank said on the D/S. just make sure it doesn't bottom out at ride height.

    so use my stock drive shaft that came with my 91 mustang and change the yoke right so it will bolt to rear end.and my tranny is called a aod right it comes in the 91 ford mustang 5.0

    I used the Maverick shaft. I think someone here has used the Mustang shaft. Just take the pinion flange off of the Mustang shaft. Install the yoke in the tailshaft housing until it bottoms out and see if you have enough clearance at the pinion flange on the Maverick housing for it to plunge when the rear suspension compresses. I use the witness marks from the trans tailshaft seal as a guide and go from there. The transmission yoke should not bottom out through the entire range of rear end motion.:tiphat:

    so ill just use what u used then right my maverick shaft
