    i also have a 1970 ford maverick with a 289 swap, but im just having trouble with the transmission mount,, the c4 trany is to short,, what did he do ???????

    Well it bolted right in didn't really have a problem with it .what's is the problem your running in to.dose it not line up with the tranny cross member.

    sounds like you put the frame mounts in backwards

    Yea i would make sure the frame mounts are not backward..that could make it not line up..
