firstly, i would like to say a big thankyou from the bottom of my heart to ED DAVIS for allowing me to adopt his baby.. eileenII. it now resides in brisbane australia and is the only known registered maverick in queensland. I have been fortunate to plant my but in the seat and right foot on the gas pedal for about 1300 miles already.its now time to give it a few mods of my own, starting with an x276 roller cam and some aluminium heads with 2.02 and 1.6 valves,a 750 holley and a couple of other goodies. 275 40 17 tyres now sit under the rear guards and are almost bald already!!!!!!will update when mods are done, and will certainly keep in touch ED. cheers from aussie
...From Maconga, U.S.A...:Handshake I would like to see a pic. of them...275 40 17 tyres ...Frank, Effie and Patches...
Welcome, Im glad you joined. This is a GREAT site and any answer you may have can be answered here. Im glad you are taking care of her it brought many smiles to my face.
Does the car have to be converted to right hand drive to be in Australia? I have always heard that was a requirement.
hi craig, no if a vehicle is over 30yrs old it can stay in the configuration that it was manufactured. however they do require a few mods as to meet australian safety standards such as aust. appreved seatbelts, opposite aiming headlights and in some cases amber coloured rear indicators. all pretty simple mods really. i think you would be surprised how much american muscle there is on our roads here. check out www.boostcruising.com.au and enjoy for hours mate
Welcome to the site and Congrats, on acquiring that nice Mav. I have seen the American muscle on tv - I believe it was on Car Crazy w/ Barry Meguiar the auto detailing product guy.
