I spoke with the folks at Hughes last week and they recommended their 30-30 Pro-street convertor for my car. It's a 10.5 inch with a 3000 rpm stall. My transmission has to come out again for some other upgrades and I would like to increase the flash as compared to my current unit. Just wanted to know if anyone has one now and could advise me of what the street manners are of this particular unit. Any help concerning this convertor or selecting something simialr would be greatly appreciated as I don't plan on having this C4 out again anytime soon.

    Thanks - Mike

I was going to put a hughes in mine but summit couldn't figure out that the units that hughes has in there catalog wouldn't work. I ended up having them send me a b&m converter and it was 30.00 cheaper. Summit sent me 2 wrong converters and delayed the project by a couple of weeks in the process. I guess what I am saying is that make sure you have all of the info as to size, year, and spline count figured out ahead of time to help in the process of getting the right one the first time. I am going with a 2400 stall because I don't plan on doing a lot of racing with it. Good luck with the project. :tiphat:

I don't run a street convertor. But I do have 3 Hughes convertors I use at the track. The one in now is a 4500. I also have a 24 spline and a 26 spline 3500. The convertors are good and the service, at least for me, has been real good.:)

When buying a converter it is always best to not pick a shelf converter and call them direct for the best setup for your car. A converter will make or break your setup.

I did contact Hughes directly and gave them all of the specifications I had for my car. Afterward, they recommended their 3000 Prostreet series convertor. It just happens to be one of their commonly supplied parts sold through Jegs, Summit, and other suppliers. So I thought someone here may have already purchased one and could give some performance feedback. If not, looking for feedback from those of you running similar 3000 stall convertors on the strret/strip with 4.11 gears.

    Thanks -

I run that converter in my car and it's pretty tight. Mine is a 306 tfs heads cam with 3:50 gears. Only see 2300 no Trans brake
