did some help w engine storage

ok my 302 is on the engine stand i was thinking if its bad just seting there will it lock up? the guy that had it be for me drained all the oil so do i need to pu oil in it?its got bags over it and duck tap y its not in saveing for a tranny

so what do i need to do to keep it good?

 

Pull the plugs, put a couple of squirts of clean oil in the holes(just a little), turn the engine over a couple of revolutions and put the plugs back in. If it's not ever been run, you might also pull the distributor and prime the oiling system unless it has assembly lube in it. Wrap it up and keep it dry.

 

Motor oil, not WD40 or something like that.

As said before KEEP the engine in inside dry storage.

In a damp area of the country don't store it in plastic bag

 

i live in the south ringgold GA i dont think it is damp

 

Southern summer humidity counts as damp. Inside a building is good. Air conditioned is better.
