I am new to the world of maverick's. What parts are hard to find and what kind of value do they have. i am asking because i have a parts car that looks like it has a good inner cowl with stove pipes intact and i have noticed that most people have to use moded pieces from mustangs. Not saying i would sell because i have not checked mine in the rebuild yet. Also so i know what to save before scrapping the rest.

Was it a V8 or I6? If it was a v8 the frame mounts, belly bar, tranny xmember. what year is it? Gas tanks for a 70 are hard to come by. Later models have disc brake setups, etc Give us an idea what you have, Year? engine? tranny? etc. :)

your right should of gave more info. it is nothing special, a 74 2 door it had a 250 with a 3 speed standard drum front with 5 bolt, rear was already missing, this was some thing we picked up for parts outer fenders had some rust and inside needs most cloth redone but as a general rule is sound if it wasn't for paper work may have used this as rebuild base instead of 72. you mentioned the gas tank it is there without any leaks but can not say condition of inside yet but fill tube looks heavy with rust.

If it were mine, I'd hold onto tail lights, windshield / and seal, front grill if intact, headlight bezels, front and rear window chromes.... basically anything that is universal between years and most likely to get damaged when someone fender benders you. even the tail fender pieces (not sure what their called) but they bolt up to the rear fenders on the back of the car like an older Cadillac by the tail lights.

    But that's just me

Nothing is really that hard to find. Lots of Mavericks being stripped all the time.

I'M sorry, But I disagree w/ the statement that no parts are hard to find or we would all have louvers on our cars!

What about Grabber Hoods? I'm not finding any.... aside from one that's rusted clean through on the front edge for a space of about 8" and another couple spaces of 4 - inches. Should I offer the guy $100.00 for it? Top of hood looked fair-to-middling but after looking at some of the tech articles on the site, I'm beginning to BELIEVE!! Maybe I can reapair the hood and it IS actually worth something... Any suggestions on what it might be worth? (As a side note I should mention that I just paid an amount equall to 10% of what I paid for the entire car just to get some fairly clean back seat armrest panels...)

BTW, could not open the hood so don't know what shape the underside is in...

IT usually the front inner thats really bad.

Carbon fibre Grabber hood is easy to find. By the time you buy a steel hood, fix it and get it in paint I bet the CF hood is equal or cheaper in price. You might get 5-600 for a nice steel Grabber hood if you can find a buyer near to you. Shipping would be an issue.

Hard to find, or hard to find cheap? Anything can be found with the right contacts, and the right amount of money. In my 24 years of owning Mavericks, I have been able to find everything that I've wanted. Who really wants louvers anyways, it's not 1980....

I tried to sell a solid inner cowl on here and didn't get any bites. Figured with as many horror stories that are out there it would have been an easy sale, they went to the scrap yard......

I wouldn't, never have liked them.

I didn't need it, didn't go with the themes of my Maverick builds.
