My 72 Maverick has air shocks and the car is slammed to the ground,if i replace them with regular shocks, will the car come up in height? It's just until I throw in the 9''

If the air shocks are worn out and not holding air it might come up. If they are holding air like they are supposed to the you might have other problems. If you put more air in it does the car come up?

Hey Mr.Graham, thanks for the info but what I mean is that if I replace the air shocks with a pair of the white KYB's will the car come up in height? You see the story goes like this. I bought this car 6yrs ago and never really looked it over. When I bought the car I only checked for rot and I havn't touched the car in 5yrs because of the economy but my welding business picked up so now its play time.

The springs is what is holding the weight...shocks control the bounce. I'll say the car will sit the same

Bronx, you don't have to ditch the leafs to get the rear up. Maybe you just need newer leafs. A lot of folks here are removing a leaf to get the rear down to an acceptable height after installing new ones.

Thanks Mr.Marino, look at my pics and tell me what you think considering that theres no motor and tranny.I had put a smallblock chevy in it with a th400 but I took it out and bought a 347 smallblock ford.I gotta a guy out here that will be more than happy to make them for me,the real ham is I wanna put the widest tire without cutting the car up and if I remove the leafs i'll get more wheel in the quarter panel and bring me up in height at least another inch.I know there's alot going on:cool:
