After a long 8 month journey down the restoration trail, we finaly have our neighbor's latest Maverick finished. I have to say of all the Mavericks and Comets we have worked on, this one was by far the cleanest. Almost completely rust free and only a few minor dings and dents. Not bad for a New Jersey car that sat on a hillside with a small stream of water running under it since the early 1990's. All things considered, this Maverick should have been a wasted pile of rust, but somehow it excaped that fate. The worst part of the entire car was the fact that it was hit in the front end at one time resulting in a bent frame and the creation of a Comrick hybrid. Now the Comet front end is gone along with the green paint and green interior. It's the same car with a new look, right down to the new tires and wheels. Once it gets it's Antique Tags and a new exhaust system it will be ready to roll again. This car is destined to go to my neighbor's other grandson. The Grabber we did before this Maverick is to go to his youngest Grandson. For now this Maverick is still basicly stock, but in the future they might beef up the 250 under the hood and make a sleeper out of it. The paint color is 1990 Ford Strawberry Poly. The pictures do not do the color justice because they were taken on a cloudy day. The green interior is now black.
