My 6901's came in and fit better. The driver side is no longer hitting the PS cylinder. So far so good.

headmans suck... fit like crap! even with drop bracket. hooker super comps are the best.

    i know i own both.

but.... if you have late model heads your screwed either way. have fun changing the 7 and 8 plug lol!

hedman and hooker both suck i had to modify pipes on the driverside on both sets. just spend the money and have a nice set of custom ones made the quality of those brand have gone by the waste side

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
You guys have to realize these are 35-43 year old cars, no two are identical.
then factor is all the differences like old motor mounts and such and it increases.

Not to mention both of the headers mentioned here are the cheap kind, which do not have the same quality assurance as the higher end headers will have.

There's gonna be some cars that a set will not fit, but put them in another car and they will fit.

It's a trial and error process because these cars are not 100% identical.

If you want a set that will fit perfectly get a custom set made, but of course most of us don't have that kind of money so we're stuck getting an entry level set and have to make modifications.

I have a set of Headman I bought 20 years ago, for my 74 Grabber. They were a bitch to install but they fit. I bought another set from a member here on the board, and side by side there were differences in the position of the tubes, so I sold them to a Mustang guy. He was cutting them up anyways.

My hookers fit ok, they do hit the pitman arm at full turn though. Ironically, I sold my other car with the best fitting headers I've ever installed on a Mav. They were alumicoated Blackjacks. They didn't hit anything and had the best ground clearance of all the ones I've seen.

I installed Hedmans, only issue was the ps cylinder. The hedman bracket did not lower it enough so i fabricated my own bracket. Headers fit real nice except for that.
