http://mmb.maverick.to/attachment.php?attachmentid=55295&stc=1&d=1336609207 okay i an a old gm truck guy and dont know much about my little car. besides its a 74 ,it has the 8 in rear end and drums all the way around it, with a 3spd and a 6 cylinder. i am not sure which 6 cyl i have, the head and intake are integrated. so i guess my question is how many different engine choices where in 1974? what was the year range of the maverick of this body style? 70-77? i do have to hand it to ford it looks and runs better than any stock vega. i really like this little car it has no rust except for the front of the hood. i have all the papers on it even the warty tag! with info on what he traded in for it. it all shows its a original 40000 mile car.
If the engine is a six it shld be either a 200 or a 250. You can check the VIN and the sticker on the inside of the drivers side door against the info at this site: http://home.comcast.net/~petebre/maverick/decode/index.html That should tell you what engine the car had originally as well as other info like the original paint and interior (if it isn't still in the original colors), where it was built, etc. Welcome to the forum!
