I agree Maverick75. I actually had Shelby sign my 67 mustang, nice guy. Sad to hear of his passing, but I have been expecting it for along time now. Was hoping to have him sign my Maverick when I got it done. R.I.P. Shelby!
I remember something I heard him say in a interview recently. " Yesterday is history, tomorrow mistery, so live for today." He always sounded so humble and down the earth and still liked to go fast.
The guy starts life as a chicken farmer .... has to stop racing early in his career because of heart trouble (downing nitro pills during a race ... just so he can finish!) ... goes on to be an icon in the automotive world ... leaves an indelible mark on so many folks ... lives to be almost 90 years old. I say ... "Job Well Done!" .... I'd say "R.I.P." , but so many people will be invoking his name for years to come, I doubt that will happen. Sounds like he liked to be way too busy all the time anyway ....
Heartbreaking that there will not be any more true Shelby cars, because sadly, the "last Shelby"... is the man himself .
