I have a 1976 Ford Maverick. It did not have emblems. I have since purchased some originals with pins that would require the clips/fasteners and then petting holes in the car to attach them. Would the better solution be to grind down the pins and then just apply to the car with an appropriate epoxy/glue? I am quite novice at this, so I don't know all the terminology or techniques.
    Thanks
    Darren

My 74 emblems had some of the pins broken, so I bought some 3M emblem glue at OReillys and used it on them. So far, only one has came off, and that was because I snagged it with a rag while washing it. It's a clear glue, but if you get a lot of run out, it can be seen. It was in the auto body section, most good auto parts should have it.

Keep in mind that your car would have NEVER had Maverick emblems from the factory.

If you want to add them to your car, I would suggest drilling the holes and installing barrel clips. These clips are what the pegs of the emblem slide in to.

If it was me....I would leave them off.

If you don't mind measure, and using a drill put them on right. Wont have to worry about one falling off. All 3m glue will get old and drop emblems sooner or later. I took mine off, due to serious age damage. Looking for NOS or repo'd. :16suspect

Wasn't the trunk emblem glued on? I didn't put mine back on but I can't recall now if it had pins and I filled the holes.

It is held on with two sided tape.

The best way is to drill and use barrel clips, as mentioned already.

The second best way would be to use the same 2 sided tape used for the rear emblem. Apply to the back and use an exacto knife to trim out the excess. Then peel and stick. You will need to clean the body panel very well to remove any oil or wax where you place it.

    3M tape - the best

I might do a decal, if I do I will post it on forum.
I kind of like that idea better, its hard to find a good airbrush artist.
