Yes, I know there are a ton of them and I apologize. The problem is that the pics in some of the older threads have disappeared. I really need to see some pics of ride heights based on number of coils cut, front end weight(big bumper or small, V8 or I6, aluminum or iron heads, fiberglass parts or steel), and type of spring used(6 banger, V8, aftermarket etc...). I think 1 1/2 coils is what I will end up cutting off, but if you guys could post up pics of your rides again, I would be very grateful. :)

Here is the deal,,, each car has its own history. You cut stock coils, what you see is what you get. I dont think there is a manual on this subject. Pics of cars with cut coils will be of little help. Too many variables here, engine, wheels, wear, age, rear suspension, updates, etc. My advice is to cut one coil at a time and see where you are at. I personally cut 1.5 coils off original coils. Dropped it about 2"

Mustangs and Fords November 2004 issue has an article on Lowering vehicles. Pretty good article. It's the one with the Blue 600 horsepower Rustang on the front. Preston

Like I have mentioned before; I cut 1 coil from old springs and it dropped it more than I wanted it to. It was a learning experience for me...

Thanks for the input guys. I think Ill start with 1 coil. My springs seem pretty stout, as the car has always had its nose up in the air. If it takes it down too much then chances are I needed new springs anyways right?

Keep in mind; I replaced my rear springs wwith 4-leaf heavy duty. if your stock springs are already saggging, then dropping the front won't seem so drastic...it will even it out more...be low all the way around. My car has a "rake" now...

Well that's because they are pictures of a Maverick. Now if they were pictures of one of those fine PINTOS you are always bragging on, they would be smaller......since the pinto is smaller than a Maverick......Right??

:slap: Just kidding.........I couldn't resist because let's face it, I KNOW how much you just LOVE pintos.......right? :D Take care......Country:p

I personally think that 1 1/2 coils would be to much for a daily driver......now a weekend cruiser, no problem. You just have to be a little more mindful of the roads you are on.
